But it’s also an event to widespread the hope—the hope to be yourself, the hope to live with the dream, the hope to break down the impossible, the hope to add extra in ordinary and make it extraordinary.

Oscar: the red carpet, the popular make-up faces, the swanky dresses, the celebration and tears.

But it’s also an event to widespread the hope—the hope to be yourself, the hope to live with the dream, the hope to break down the impossible, the hope to add extra in ordinary and make it extraordinary.

Let’s rewind the memory and zoom on the “Best Actor” category.

Finally, Jeff Bridges got the opportunity to thank his parents, for turning him on to such a groovy profession.

In the past 40 years, Jeff Bridges has been nominated for 4 times. But every time, he got nothing except the hope for the next time. And this year, his 5th nomination made his hope worthy.

And my favorite moment was when Michael Giacchino was awarded the Best Music (Original Score) Oscar for the film, UP. Read his acceptance speech:

When I was… I was nine and I asked my dad, “Can I have your movie camera? That old, wind-up 8 millimeter camera that was in your drawer?” And he goes, “Sure, take it.” And I took it and I started making movies with it and I started being as creative as I could, and never once in my life did my parents ever say, “What you’re doing is a waste of time.” Never. I know there are kids out there that don’t have that support system so if you’re out there and you’re listening, listen to me: If you want to be creative, get out there and do it. It’s not a waste of time. Do it.

You know, this is one of the coolest criteria among the most successful people. Now maybe you are thinking, “Come on, if hoping like this can bring success, then there are so many people spend hours doing that, they’d also become highly successful.”

No! There is a slim line between “wishing” and “hoping.”

When you are wishing, you’re just presuming the result to make your inner self happy.

But when you are hoping, you believe in the end. You believe on your self-worth and you tell yourself that you are ready to stride towards your goal, no matter what.

Yes, the determination to make the wish a reality counts most—it’s the determination.

What you are and where you wanna go at the end—the journey gets colored by the determination you add. It’s not by simply wishing.

How strong your determination is?

See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world;
The breath from your own lips,
the touch of fingertips;
Someone calling your name;
Didn’t you think you were worth anything?
~ Sweet Old World, Lucinda Williams.

Just finished reading an article and found that in USA, one person (preferably man) killed himself in every 17 minutes, on the Valentines’ Day.

For a moment, I stopped and started thinking: “Why we can’t get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together?”

Yes, we need more “hellos.”

But it always doesn’t work. Someone always leaves. And yeah, when somebody leaves it makes a hole in our heart. We find new people, pain stops but the gap never closes. How could it be? The hole in your heart is in the shape of that special person and no-one else can fit it – no one!

But suicide?

Maybe suicide can save us permanently from the pain but having pain isn’t a temporary problem – isn’t? What is suicide? Suicide is simply telling God, “No God, you can’t fire me – I’m quitting.”

Dear, when you love better make sure that you are open to the possibility of getting hurt for. When you love you risk the chance of letting go of the person. And when you let go, it’s just another way of saying, “I love you” to that person because you are allowing him to be happier to the other.

Love isn’t giving own life to show, “Look dear, I love you more than my life,” because it doesn’t shower any blessing to that person. If you kill yourself it means you also kill your love permanently for that person. So don’t kill your life, save it – so that you can save your love for her too.

Paste a smile on your lips and let her go with a shining farewell. If someday you get lucky to meet each other, you can show her, “Hey honey, look, still I’m alive because I didn’t bury my love for you – I didn’t bury it; I kept it locked in my heart.”

And then she’ll think, “Oh my God, still he loves me – oh my God!”

Come on; give your love a challenge not to be forgotten by her – come on! Live your life; live your love and make that person to remember your name. Otherwise, you’ll give your life for her but she’d rarely remember your name which is more painful.

I’m gonna keep on singing my song
~ Singing My Song, Christina Aguilera

In his early days of learning piano, Ray Charles was once told by his teacher, “You can’t play piano and God knows you can’t sing also. You’d better learn how to wave chairs so you can support yourself.”

And today?

Forget about the recording of more than 60 albums or winning 12 Grammy Awards, being considered as the “Father of the Soul/R&B music,” Ray Charles is ranked #10 by the Rolling Stone Magazine on their list of The Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

Now, maybe you are thinking, if you have only BIG dreams, it’s sure you have to be criticized.

Hold on, criticism isn’t the matter whether you are a BIG dreamer or doing something BIG. You have to be criticized because you are a human being regardless what you think or what you do. Yeah, this is price we pay for being a HUMAN. And I believe, it’s worthy enough to be human because out of every 1,00,000,00 species of living creatures only “ONE” is human … only “ONE!”

And when God made us as human, He put criticism in the “terms & conditions” part. So how can we avoid that … how can?

Maybe you’re also thinking: “Come on, I didn’t do anything wrong to anyone in my life then why?” Look, expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian … come on dear!

So, shrug off what the whole world is buzzing about you. I believe if you ever come to know what they think about themselves, you’ll get more horrified. Remember, what we feel for anything isn’t important, what we do with those feelings is most important!

Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school. ~ Albert Einstein

Academically how rich you are? Dropped out or not enough to be excited? If yes, so what! Still you have the potential to be something significant … something influential, like:

Benjamin Franklin: One of the founders of The United States of America; co-author and co-signer of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. You name it, what he wasn’t: polymath, printer, satirist, political theorist, politician, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, soldier, and diplomat.

Thomas Edison: Inventor, holding 1,093 U.S. patents in his name, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and the electric light bulb.

Valentina Terescova: Cosmonaut; first woman in space to orbit the earth.

William Faulkner: One of the most influential writers of the 20th century; won one Nobel Prize and two Pulitzer Prizes.

Agatha Christie: Best-selling female author of all time; the most translated individual author in the history.

Mary Lyon: Women’s education pioneer; founder of Mount Holyoke College (America’s first women’s college)

Helen Gurley Brown: Editor-in-chief of the Cosmopolitan magazine; the highest paid copywriter in 60s.

Frederick Henry Royce: Co-founder-designer of the “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Company.”

Florence Nightingale: Modern nursing pioneer, nicknamed as “The Lady with the Lamp.”

Gene Autry: Singer-songwriter; the first “singing cowboy”; wrote and co-wrote over 200 songs, including “Back in the Saddle Again” and “Here Comes Santa Claus.” Only person to have five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Marcus Loew: Early Hollywood pioneer; founder of the “Loews” movie- theater chain and co-founder of “MGM” studios.

Simon Cowell: The richest TV personality after Oprah, the creator of Pop Idol, The X Factor, and Britain’s Got Talent.

Aretha Franklin: 20 times Grammy winning singer-pianist; the first woman artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Rod Laver: The only tennis player to have twice won all four Grand Slam singles titles in the same year; tennis’s first millionaire.

Mildred Zaharias: Women’s sports pioneer; won 6 Gold medals and broke 4 world records at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic.

So when people look at your academic qualification and say, “Isn’t your education a draw-back for your success?” Let them know, success isn’t limited without formal education, success is limited without vision. What’s your vision?

Maybe the pessimist will say, “If Titanic can sink then what is a relationSHIP?” It’s my advice to them: “Please, shut up!” Maybe a relationship can be hit with some cyclic waves but still it can sail through, having happy ending. Here are the SIX rules to guide your relationSHIP to the satisfying destination what I call “ACCEPT.”

A [ATTRACTION]: Nothing comes closer if they are not attracted to each other. In science it’s the opposite but in real-life, it’s both—sometimes opposite, sometimes similarity. Find out what attracts you in that person, appreciate it and find new ways to make it more attractive.

C [COMMUNICATION]: Communication isn’t about Blackberry or 3G iPhone, it’s about understanding the unspoken. It’s not looking to each others eyes; it’s looking to the same direction together. The spaces between our fingers were created so that someone else could fill them in. And the communication is the process to fill those gaps. Fill it.

C [COMMITMENT]: How do you know that you’re committed? When your presence can help others to become what they dream to be, pat yourself, you’re committed. Commitment isn’t about “I,” it’s about “WE.”

E [ENJOYMENT]: Bring the best out of today. Who knows when your ship gets collided with iceberg? Make the hell out of NOW.

P [PURPOSE]: Do you really know in which direction you’re moving. Remember, without direction everything lost their way.

T [TRUST]: The ultimate one! Trust is something which inspires you to give somebody the power to hurt you but believing that person won’t do that. When everything is under dark cloud, TRUST … TRUST … TRUST (but don’t trust the devil inside them).

So step in the ship with “ACCEPT” and make a cheerful view. And yeah, the journey always wouldn’t be smooth; sometimes it’d lose balance but hold on your faith and keep singing:

Together we’re in this relationship
We’ve built it with care to last the whole trip
Our true destination is not marked on any chart
We’re navigating for the shores of the heart
~ Voyage, Celtic Thunder

There are two ways we can tag failure in our life. First: “I’m a failure!” Second: “I failed at something!”

When we say, “I am a failure,” it indicates: “I’m the reason of this … it’s all because of me.” But when we say, “I failed at something,” it indicates: “It’s not me … it’s my action that fails. It’s not me!”

We all have failed many times although we mayn’t remember. We fell down the first time we tried to walk or ride a bi-cycle. We almost drowned when the first time we tried to swim, didn’t you?

Just think, did you hit a sixer the first time you swung the cricket bat? Forget about yourself, think about the following cricket greats.

Sachin Tendulkar, the one who has scored the maximum number of centuries and the highest run getter in one-day-international, has failed to score his maiden ODI century for the first five years of his career. It was his 79th one-day-international when he finally succeed to score his maiden ODI ton.

Saeed Anwer, the highest individual scorer in the one-day-international (194), couldn’t open his score sheet and was out for duck in the first four innings of his test career.

Mathew Hayden, the second highest individual scorer in the test cricket, was ousted from the selection of under-21 Australian cricket team and in the first five years of his career, got the chance to play only seven test matches.

Sanat Jayasuyra, the only cricketer to score over 12,000 ODI runs after Tendulkar, in the first 80 matches of his career, had the batting average just below eight.

Sourav Ganguly, the third highest run getter in the one-day-international and the most successful Indian captain, was dropped from the team after playing his first ODI. After four long years of waiting, he was selected again and got the change to play his second One Day International.

Naah, we are not failure; we failed at something. So don’t worry about the failure. Worry about the chances you miss, when you don’t even try. Remember, there is only one angle; everyone should look through—that’s TRYangle.

You force yourself not to go for your dream because you know—life is never easy for those who dream. It’ll knock you down; push you back and make you the reason to be laughed for.

So tenderly your story is
Nothing more than what you see
Or what you’ve done or will become
Standing strong do you belong
In your skin; just wondering
~ Clint Eastwood (Jamie Cullum)

If it would become possible to buy any dream you wanted, would you try to buy? If yes, then why you never worked to achieve it?

Okay, I’m giving you the answer.

You force yourself not to go for your dream because you know—life is never easy for those who dream. It’ll knock you down; push you back and make you the reason to be laughed for.

Then your inner-voice whispers to you, “Better, don’t try.”

THE ATTITUDE

You know dear, there is a formula:

C + R = O

(CHALLENGE + RESPONSE = OUTCOME)

You can blame the challenge (C) for the lack of your outcome (O). But by simply changing your response (R) to the challenges (C), you can change the outcome (O).

You can’t change the fact that you have to face obstacle and the success rule will act in a certain way. The only thing you can do is to play your part with the right attitude.

As you have dreams you have to face challenges. There is no other way.

FACING THE CHALLENGES

In Chinese, the word “crisis” stands for “weiji” which often has been said to be composed of the characters for “danger” and “opportunity.” That’s why in the Chinese culture, a crisis is regarded not merely as a danger but also as an opportunity.

If in your success there is no challenge, it’s a fair bet; your success isn’t big enough to be proud for. Yes, the challenges enrich the tale we call success.

Actually if you think deeply, you’ll find that the troubles are the price we pay for our success. Each and every trouble makes us more confident … more passionate. Because then only we want to achieve more, as revenge—to show that we can!

WINNERS TAKE IT ALL

Do you know the basic difference between an ordinary people and a winner? The winner takes everything as challenge, while ordinary people take everything either as a blessing or a curse. So what happens to you, it can be a curse but it’s your responsibility to make it a blessing!

Because, people never become winners by winning; they win as they are winners.

We always have to accept some defeats— it’s the biggest truth of our life. No one can avoid them. And it’s always better to lose some of the battles in the struggle of our dreams than to be defeated without knowing what we’re fighting for.

THE DESTINATION: SUCCESS

It’s true that we all have our own destiny, but the importance is to follow it, to accept it, no matter where it leads us.

If you have the attitude to win, you have achieved half of your success; if you don’t, you have achieved half of your failure.

Remember, no one can defeat you unless you first defeat yourself.

Nobody can’t make things happen until they can make others understand what they want to do and why. Yes, communicate well with people shortens the gap between where you are and where you want to be in today’s life.

But remember, communication is more than just talk.

Listening is as important to communication as speaking. So today, I’m going to share how to become a better listener. Here are the most important techniques:

Show interest. (“Really …” “Then what you did ….”)

Encourage the speaker to develop competence and motivation to solve the problem independently. (“I can feel it, when I have faced it I did ….”)

Listen to clarify. (“Do you mean …?” “Is this the problem?”)

Listen to be neutral. (“I see.” “Uh-huh.” “That’s interesting.”)

Listen to bring discussion into focus. (“These are the ideas you have mentioned …” “Your priorities are …”

Cultivate the ability to be silent when silence is need. Even a fish can get out of problem if he shuts up his mouth.

Stick to the point. Often people who feel they are expert in a particular field talk too much. Let your ideas seek the words—never the reverse.

Listening is also a skill. That’s why, there are several things a good listener should NOT do:

Don’t pass judgment too quickly or in anticipation of what the speaker has to say.

Don’t give advice unless it is requested (most of the time, people share their problem just for the empathy, not to get the solution).

Don’t jump on conclusion.

Listening is a key to knowing and understanding. The trouble with people who talk too much is that they often say things they haven’t thought of yet.

Don't go through life, GROW through life. Have you ever thought “What is a weed?” A weed is just a plant whose virtues have not been discovered yet—same as rejection. Remember, what happens to us, it happens for us!

A research has shown, by the time we reach 18, we hear the word “NO” over 1,30,000 times. Just remember your childhood. How many times you have been told, “don’t do this, don’t do that,” “you’ll be never amount of anything” and on-and-on, list goes.

It’s true for most of us, growing up hearing lot of negative things. Most of us were taught that some people were just better than us and there was nothing we could do about it. But some point of our life we have to break that jinx, we have to break our comfort zone and have to look for some benefit in every rejection.

Avoiding rejections not only slows us down, it also causes us to detour from our planned route. People who plan to succeed accept rejections along the way; maybe they are even afraid of rejections. However, they are so focused on achieving their goals they don’t let that fear stand in their way.

Agatha Christie’s The Mysterious Affair At Styles was deemed as not suitable for a publisher’s list.

Mick Jagger gave auditioned to sing on the radio program, Jazz Club, but the BBC officials deemed Jagger as “unsuitable.”

Sylvester Stallone was turned down to get a role in the films like, The Godfather and Serpico.

Julia Roberts auditioned for the part of Linda Warner on All My Children and the part of Hayley Benson on Santa Barbara but in both the occasions, she got rejected

Larry Page and Sergey Brin approached Yahoo! boss David File and asked for a merger with Google. But Yahoo! boss kicked out the idea, suggesting, “When it’s fully developed and scalable, lets’ talk again.

Don’t go through life, GROW through life. Have you ever thought “What is a weed?” A weed is just a plant whose virtues have not been discovered yet—same as rejection. Remember, what happens to us, it happens for us!
